Pine Tree Hospice's Evergreen Nights of Service is a six-week program that is designed specifically for children, teens, and their families who have experienced a death of a loved one and provides a safe place for kids to share their experience with others who are also in the process of working through their grief and loss.Each session has a different focus, such as feelings, other expressions of grief, memories, and coping.PENQUIS - The 'Alliance' has scheduled its next hotline training for both Piscataquis and Penobscot Counties to begin September 21st.If you are looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity please consider becoming a trained advocate to provide support services to victims of domestic abuse and to assist in answering our 24 hour hotline.Friday, October 16 area families are invited to attend a community potluck supper at Valley Grange from p.m. Valley Grange is located at 172 Guilford Center Road in Guilford.For more information, visit contact Walter Boomsma at 343-1842.

Bookworms visit the school twice per week to listen to students read. Piscataquis Community Elementary School is located on Campus Drive in Guilford. Boomsma will present the NRAs Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program a gun accident prevention program that seeks to help parents, law enforcement, community groups and educators navigate a topic paramount to our childrens safety.

Participants are encouraged to engage in various activities including art, play, journaling, and talking so that each person may discover what works best for him or her as an individual to help process their grief and to help integrate the loss into one's life.

An adult support group is also available for parents or guardians of the children to attend at the same time the children meet. PENQUIS - Friday, October 9 Garland Grange hosts a public boiled dinner from 5 p.m. Menu includes ham and corned beef, plus local vegetables, homemade bread and desserts.
